The Dowagiac freshmen football team defeated visiting Three Rivers 48-24 Thursday.

Scott Hassle threw several critical first down passes to Marcos Estrada and another to Kyler Mark. He also had a pair of touchdown tosses to Brandon Winchester-Jones.

Winchester-Jones also ran for two touchdowns along with Jared Hatch.

Jacob Davis added a touchdown run with Hatch and Nathan Tackitt each scoring on a 2-point conversion.

“Defensively, everyone played well,” Dowagiac coach Chad Perrin said.

The Chieftains travel to Edwardsburg Thursday to take on the Eddies.
