Levin in Buchanan Oct. 6

U.S. Sen. Carl Levin, Armed Services Committee chairman, will be in Buchanan Saturday, Oct. 6, to rally the political troops.

Doors open at 1:30 p.m. at the senior center, 810 Rynearson St.

A $10 donation is requested.

“We’ve had him in the past and he’s always taken questions,” Jess Minks, South County Democratic Club chairman, said Tuesday.

Michigan’s senior senator, first elected in 1978, is also the state’s longest-serving senator.

Invited guests also include local, state and congressional candidates — 6th District U.S. House candidate Mike O’Brien of Douglas, 78th District state House candidate Jack Arbanas of Buchanan, 79th District state House candidate Jim Hahn of Stevensville, Berrien County clerk candidate Robin Bays of Niles and Berrien County Board of Commissioners candidates Dave Crumley, 10th District; Michael Ringler, 11th District; and John Klimek, 12th District.
