The Edwardsburg cross country teams split with Otsego and Three Rivers at the Wolverine Conference Triangular held at the Dowagiac Middle School Tuesday.

The Eddies lost to Otsego 16-43 in the boys race, while they edged Three Rivers 27-30.

The Edwardsburg girls were also defeated by Otsego 23-36, but defeated the Wildcats 25-32.

Tyler Star of Otsego was the overall boys winner with a time of 16:32.

Edwardsburg’s Ben Getz placed fifth with a time of 18:12 and Andrew Vankirk eighth with a time of 18:35.

Aubrey Ritchey turned in a dominating performance to win the girls race with a time of 19:32. Three Rivers’ Marley Guy was the runner-up with a time of 21:06.

Also cracking the top 10 for the Eddies was Kristen Miller, who was sixth with a time of 21:29.

“I was pleased with the way our boys ran against Three Rivers,” Edwardsburg coach Beth Gunn said. “It would have been great to see her (Ritchey) run against the Paw Paw girl (Kayla DePierre) because they have gone back and forth in track. I’m excited to see them run head-to-head. The girls ran really well today in spite of the wind.”
