Martinez scored four goals in losing effort

LAWTON – The Dowagiac soccer team was edged by Lawton 5-4 in a non-conference match Monday.

The match was deadlocked at 3-3 at halftime and both teams finished the game with 13 shots on goal.

Adrian Martinez scored all four goals for the Chieftains.

“We were not able to handle each others’ offensive counter attacks,” Dowagiac coach Mike Williams said. “It went back and forth the whole game. We just ended up on the losing end.”
