COMSTOCK — The Dowagiac golf team earned its best finish of the season Tuesday.

The Chieftains placed sixth at the Wolverine Conference Jamboree hosted by Comstock at Eastern Hills.

Otsego and Plainwell tied for first place at 185, but the Bulldogs pulled out the win based on fifth-person scoring.

Allegan was third at 200, Three Rivers fourth at 201, Comstock fifth at 204 and Dowagiac sixth at 211.

Darby Wagner was the medalist Tuesday afternoon shooting 40.

Dowagiac was led by Haley Smith’s 49. Kristyn Turner shot 50, while Maggie Cripe and Kelsey Smith both shot 56.

Otsego leads the race for the championship with 57 points. Plainwell is second with 55 and Three Rivers third with 49. Dowagiac is tied for ninth with 15 points.
