A four-run ninth inning propelled visiting Coldwater to a 10-6 victory over Niles in Little League District play at F.O.P. Park Monday.

Niles trailed 4-1 heading into the bottom of the third when Austin Platz hit a two-run home run to make it 4-3. Platz had two home runs in the contest for the All-Stars.

Coldwater scored two runs in the fourth inning to make it 6-3, but Niles came back in the bottom of the sixth to tie the game at 6-6.

The key play in the three-run inning was a two-RBI single by Jacob Base.

Coldwater advances to the championship semifinals Thursday at F.O.P. Park. That game will be played at 6 p.m. against the winner of the Schoolcraft-Mattawan contest.

Niles drops into the consolation bracket and will play Tuesday in Mattawan at 6 p.m. against either Three Rivers or Mendon.
