Lucy K. (Krise) Norton, 90, of Cassopolis, died Sunday, April 29, 2012, in Cass County Medical Care Facility, Cassopolis.

She was born May 20, 1921, in Marcellus to Wilbur and Katharine (Allen) Krise.
She married Richard G. Norton on June 23, 1945. He preceded her in death on July 3, 2001.

Lucy lived in Cassopolis until moving to Niles in 1955. She relocated to Kettering, Ohio, in 1963 before retiring to Ft. Pierce, Fla., in 1984.

Lucy loved her family first and enjoyed time spent with family and friends. She loved to entertain with her piano playing at holiday gatherings and social events. She was an avid golfer, playing in leagues and with her family into her 80s. She loved to laugh, tell old stories, play bridge and spend time volunteering.

She was also preceded in death by one grandson, Joseph Sheteron; two brothers, Phillip Krise and John Krise; and one son-in-law, Victor G. Olekas.

Lucy is survived by two daughters, Vicki Olekas, of Huber Heights, Ohio, and Nancy (Tex) Sheteron, of Cassopolis; two sons, Richard “Gary” Norton Jr., of Miami Township, Ohio, and John Norton (partner Richard Margolis), of Washington, D.C; six grandchildren, Brad (Kymberly) Norton of Greer, S.C., Jill (Jeff) Tavella, of Mason, Ohio, Chad Sheteron, of Cassopolis, Amy Sheteron, of Osceola, Ind., Jennifer Olekas, of Huber Heights, Ohio, and Matthew (Kaidi) Olekas, of Vandalia, Ohio; and nine great-grandchildren.

Family and friends will gather on Saturday, July 7, at 11 a.m. for a graveside service in Reames and Norton Cemetery, Cassopolis, where Mrs. Norton’s remains will be laid to rest beside those of her late husband, Richard G. Norton, Sr. The Rev. Stephen Kaszer, of United Presbyterian Church, Cassopolis, will officiate.

The family request that memorial contributions be made to the Joseph N. Sheteron Scholarship, in care of Michigan Gateway, 111 Days Ave., Buchanan, MI 49107. Arrangements have been entrusted to Wagner Family Funerals, Cassopolis.  Online condolences may be posted at wagnercares.com.
