A pair of Lakeland Conference performers have earned Michigan High School Softball Coaches Association All-State honors.

Edwardsburg’s Andrea LaPlace and Buchanan’s Erin Glavin were named to the Division 3 and Division 2 teams respectively.

Glavin, a repeat all-stater, hit .518 for the Bucks this past season with seven doubles, three triples and 21 RBIs. Glavin, who set a new single season hits mark at Buchanan with 71, also was 31-of-31 in stolen base attempts.

LaPlace hit .451 for the Eddies with 15 extra base hits and 36 RBIs. She was also 12-5 in the circle with an ERA of 2.89.

LaPlace was also all-district and all-region.

Joining her on the all-district team were Kaley Frank, Brittany Hurst, Tanner Kiessel, Jill Blough, Nicole Brooks and coach Randy Brooks.

All-region honors went to Kiessel and Nicole Brooks.

This is the second straight year that the Eddies have had an all-state selection. Victoria Knight was first team all-state in 2011.
