A former subway performer in New York who has now found success all over the world will give a concert at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Niles Riverfront Amphitheater.

Offering a unique style, Lawrence “Lipbone” Redding his music is informed by everything from ’20s jazz, ska, Latin, Indian classical, ’70 soul and even disco.

“In an evening, the listener may experience everything from Himalayan-style throat singing, catchy pop hooks, rapid-fire prose with groove accompanimentor pin-drop moments as a tale unfolds,” Lipbone’s website reports.

That unique style has led to critical success.

“Lipbone Redding and the Lipbone Orchestra may be the most remarkable band I’ve seen,” the Colorado Blues Society said.

“Check out their recordings but see them in person if you can.

“You won’t believe your eyes, and you won’t stop smiling.”
