Nancy Church was named by the Berrien County Cancer Service Board of Directors on May 22 as its interim executive director.

Church has been a nurse with Berrien County Cancer Service for 17 years. Church is stepping into this position as the result of the retirement of Barbara Lane.

“We are proud to have a long-time, experienced Berrien County Cancer Service nurse step into this important role,”said Fred Busse, board chairman. “Nancy Church has the passion and dedication to lead this organization and meet the needs of people with cancer and their families in southwest Michigan.”

Church began her role as interim executive director immediately.

“I look forward to continuing our mission of caring and expanding our vision to be of even greater service to those who are facing cancer,” states Church.

The Berrien County Cancer Service (BCCS) has been making a difference in the lives of people with cancer since 1948.  Its mission is to provide free skilled home nursing services, equipment, information and supplies at cost for cancer patients and their families in Berrien County.  BCCS is a local organization that is not affiliated with any national or state organizations.  Funding is provided by United Way of Southwest Michigan, various fun-raisers throughout the year, and generous contributions by individuals in the community.
