A fire truck pull benefiting Special Olympics will be part of the second annual Edwardsburg Fire Department open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 2.
The expanded fire station is located at 69910 M-62.
Firefighter Chad King said the open house includes free lunch, lots of activities for the kids, meet the firefighters and examining MedFlight’s helicopter, which returns after being a “huge draw” last year.
The medical chopper from Memorial Hospital in South Bend will arrive at 10 a.m. for tours before taking off at 11:30.
The firetruck pull raised about $300 in 2011, King said, with a half dozen teams including other fire companies and a Boy Scout troop.
Seven-man teams pull a fully-loaded firetruck 50 feet, with the fastest time the winner.
Teams cost $70 for ages 17 to adult, $35 for ages 10 to 16 and free for ages 9 and under.
