Dontel Highsmith won four events, while Chris Gantt and Sam Courtney were double winners as the Dowagiac defeated visiting Plainwell 72-57 in Wolverine Conference boys track.

Highsmith won the 100 meters, long jump, 200 meters and was part of the winning 400-meter relay team. He was joined on that team by Dontrell Tucker, Shane Bevins and Brendon Murray.

Gantt won the 400 and 800 meters, while Courtney won the shot put and discus.

The Chieftain girls track team was not as fortunate as they were defeated by the Trojans 90-45.

Creona Rodgers had another big day as she won the 100 meters, long jump, high jump and was part of Dowagiac’s winning 400-meter relay team. She was joined on the squad by Jacoya Brookins, Angel Parker and Rosario Murray.

Brookins was also a winner in the 100-meter high hurdles.
