Niles netters blanked by Bears

ST. JOSEPH — Visiting Niles was blanked by St. Joseph in Big 16 West Division tennis Wednesday.

The Bears swept the singles flights, dropping just five games.

The best match of the day came at No. 4 doubles where Niles’ Abby Mattson and Brittany Klingerman were defeated by Claire Ottman and Autumn Ruth 6-3, 6-3.

On Tuesday, the Vikings finished fourth out of five teams at the Vicksburg Invitational.

Anna Flahaven took first at No. 1 singles against Parma Western in a match that did not begin until 8:45 p.m. and was played under the lights.

Joselyn Dlouhy and Abby Rzepka were champions at No. 3 doubles, while Mattson and Klingerman took second at No. 4 doubles.
