Chieftain JV golf team tops Shamrocks

The Dowagiac JV golf team defeated visiting Berrien Springs 203-259 in less than ideal conditions at Hampshire Country Club Monday.

Jordan Hagemann was the medalist for Dowagiac with a 46.

The Chieftains also got a 49 from Jeremiah Guernsey, a 50 from Paul Lamphere, a 58 from Ross Tidey, a 60 from Nick Lindemulder 60, Mike Luthering 65 and a 70 from Adrian Leversen.

“Conditions were less than ideal as the kids played the first four holes in steady rain,” Dowagiac coach Mark Wild said. “The greens were very wet, which lead to some tough putting conditions. Despite the wet playing conditions, I thought for the most part the team played well.

“Our freshmen are really starting to play well together, led by Jeremiah Guernsey and Jordan Hagemann.”

Dowagiac is back in action Wednesday when it takes on Edwardsburg.
