Lake Michigan College at Bertrand Crossing, will be hosting a fundraiser, “Bertrand CARES” for Polly’s Place Home & Healing Center in Niles. Vendors booths will be set up at the college so that everyone can “shop for a cause.”

Polly’s Place is a center for victims of domestic abuse. It is not an emergency shelter, but a place to help women and children feel empowered.

In addition to looking at how to get out of abusive relationships and identifying those patterns of abuse, Polly’s Place will also offer case management services, food and clothing assistance, references to legal aid, help with employment as well as invite speakers to talk about various related topics and issues.
