Chieftains fall to Bridgman 7-4

BRIDGMAN — A four-run sixth inning helped host Bridgman hold off Dowagiac 7-4 in a non-conference baseball game Thursday.

Austin Allwood and Adam McLean tripled and doubled respectively for the Bees, who outhit Dowagiac 7-6.

The Chieftains trailed 3-0 heading into the fifth inning when they scored three times to tie the score.

Bridgman (7-2) responded with four runs in the bottom of the game to take control.

Dowagiac (2-6) added a run in the sixth.

Tony Brooks doubled and drove in a run for the Chieftains, who return to action against South Haven in a Wolverine Conference doubleheader today.

Dean Klann, Cal Cox, Matt Smith, Brody Froehlich and Austin Broda each had a single.

Brad Wasko earned the win for the Bees, while Nate Lindsey took the loss for the Chieftains.

Lindsey worked into the fifth inning before being replaced by Ryne Willming. Lindsey allowed three runs on five hits. Willming allowed four runs.
