“I don’t print unless it’s perfect.”
Decide for yourself when you get a look at what John Hrycko and his Dowagiac Commercial Press created with the Cass County 1914 Atlas.
In June, the Cass County Historical Commission asked Hrycko to take on this job.
Hyrcko started with remnants of an original map and copy provided by commission member Barbara Cook.
According to Cass Local History librarian Jon Wuepper, the original was the first atlas done in color and the last one of this 8 1/2 –by-11-inch size.
The commission and Wuepper say the reproduction is a work of art, available for sale at Cass Local History Library for $25.
Copies of it will be in the collections of all the Cass District Library branches and in Van Buren District Library, Decatur.
Commissioners say the product is worth a visit just to view, if not buy.
