Cass County sheriff’s deputies responded at 12:05 p.m. Sunday to a shooting call at a residence in the 70000 block of Five Points Road in Mason Township, Edwardsburg.
Deputies discovered that Trevor Clair, 44, of Edwardsburg, had been shot during an altercation with another man at a garage on the property.Both parties were visiting the homeowner at the time of the incident.
Clair was transported via Porter and Oslo ambulance to Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Ind., where he was reported in critical condition late Sunday afternoon.
Deputies arrested a male at the scene witnesses said shot Clair.
The suspect was transported to the Cass County Jail and was being held.
The sheriff’s office said his name and information will be released after arraignment scheduled Monday in Cass County Fourth District Court in Cassopolis.
Ontwa Township Edwardsburg Police Department and Michigan State Police assisted deputies at the scene.
