Brandywine earns sweep

It was a short night for host Brandywine as it swept Eau Claire and Marcellus in non-conference wrestling Wednesday.
The Bobcats defeated the Beavers 63-16 and the Wildcats 72-12. Marcellus gave up 10 forfeits in the second match of the night.
Winning two matches on the night for Brandywine were Aaron Wentz (103), Victor Moranchel (112), Paul Lochmondy (119), Jimmie Wright (125), Niles Wright (130), Kenny Laurita (135), Chanc Ravish (140) and Nathan Anders (152).
It was the first home match of the season for the Bobcats, who have faced a strong schedule through the first couple of weeks of the season.
“We’ve been on the road all season long,” Brandywine coach Rex Pomranka said. “At least we’re not at Decatur for a change. It’s nice to be home. It’s nice to have a meet that’s not a brutal meet. You look at our schedule so far this season, it’s been a brutal schedule. It’s kind of nice to get a couple of good wins before we go into Christmas break.”
