Sentencing delayed

One of the five Niles teenagers allegedly involved in a sex video extortion scandal had his sentencing adjourned Monday.
Leon Murphy has pleaded guilty to third-degree criminal sexual conduct. As a part of his plea agreement, the charge of first-degree criminal sexual conduct was dropped.
His sentencing was moved Monday to Dec. 19, so he can testify against co-defendant Martell Miller at his trial Dec.13 — one of the conditions of Murphy’s plea deal.
Murphy, Miller and their co-defendants are accused of videotaping a then 17-year-old girl having sex with one of them and threatening to post the video on Facebook unless she performed sex acts on them.
Miller’s trial is slated for Dec. 13 at South Berrien County Trial Court. Last month, Martise Washington was found guilty in connection with the ongoing case.
