MILTON TOWNSHIP — Two people were injured in a two-car accident Thursday afternoon at the intersection of U.S. Highway 12 and Gumwood Road in Milton Township.

According to Michigan State Police Trooper Jason Sweet, a green Chevrolet Lumina was attempting to turn west onto U.S. 12 from Gumwood Road when a tan Chevrolet Impala traveling east on U.S. 12 struck it.

Both vehicles ended up side-by-side and facing west on U.S. 12.

The names of those involved in the accident and the status of their injuries has not been released.

Michigan State Police Niles Post, Niles Township Fire Department, Cass County Sheriff’s Department and Edwardsburg Ambulance were on the scene.
