Visiting Portage Northern proved to be no match for the Niles tennis team Wednesday afternoon in a Big 16 Conference West Division match.

The Vikings defeated the Huskies 7-1, sweeping all four doubles flights en route to the victory.

Portage Northern was able to pick up a victory at No. 1 singles, but the remainder of the Niles squad pretty much dominated the Huskies.

The most competitive match of the afternoon came at No. 2 singles where Niles’ Brad Miller defeated Grant Wunderlich in three sets. Miller won the opening set 6-4, but fell to Wunderlich in the second set, 6-3. Miller cruised to a 6-2 victory in the third and deciding set.
