Larry (Lars) Jensen Exhibit: Turning Timbers, Through Sept. 25 in the gallery
Turning Timbers features sculptured wood, turned on a lathe, from trees indigenous to the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore. Many of us recognize trees from bark, leaves and twigs. But the soul of a tree, the heartwood and sapwood, reveals the life and sometimes the struggle of a tree. The artist’s commitment is to show the splendor inherent inside the trees.
