MISHAWAKA, Ind. — Defending Sports Fest champion Team Michigan got off to a good start Monday afternoon as its tennis team posted a 4-1 win over Indiana West at Bethel College.
Team Michigan used three forfeits to advance to Thursday’s championship match against Indiana Metro.
On the court, Michigan split a pair of matches – one in singles and one in doubles.
Buchanan’s Nash Hughes defeated Erin Kinney 6-3 and 6-3 at No. 1 singles, while in doubles action it was Indiana’s Shannon Elliott-Lindsay Renz over Brandywine’s Lauren Leonard and Kelsey Prestly 6-3 and 6-4.
