The Miss Niles Scholarship Organization’s Court of Honor conducted a goodwill tour of the community Wednesday.

Miss Niles Samantha Low; Kelsey Prestly, first runner up; Brittanie Ritchey, second runner up; Miss Congeniality Dominique Morris; and Representative Torence Witherspoon spent the day visiting with people throughout the community.

The court read to students at Merritt Elementary, Brandywine Elementary and Howard Elementary School. The court also visited the Niles Senior Center for their “Chat and Stitch” activity and spent time at Brentwood Assisted Living.

The royalty were also given tours of Lakeland Hospital and the Niles Fire Station.

“We wanted to recognize and salute the people in our community,” said Miss Niles Scholarship Organization Chair Tracey Hossfeld. “This tour allows the Miss Niles Court of Honor the opportunity to give back to the residents of Niles, along with a chance to learn about their community.”

The Mission Niles Scholarship Organization has provided scholarship funds, public speaking opportunities, interview skills and memorable experience for young women in Niles since 1926.
