Lions participate in Memorial Day

The Edwardsburg Lions Club will be participating in the annual Memorial Day parade and festival.

The Lions have a float again this year to show their patriotic support for the memorial service being held in the heart of town by the historical museum.

Afterward, the Lions will have a booth at the festival as Alison Claerhout from the Michigan Eye Bank will be there for anyone interested in signing up to donate their organs in the event of their death.

It is a simple process and all that is needed is a driver’s license.

Claerhout can sign participants up from a laptop and a red heart sticker will arrive in the mail at a later date to adhere to the driver’s license.

Also at the booth will be the Cass County Sheriff’s Deptartment, McKenzie Kreiner to process Child Identification Kits. This is a free service to everyone.

Parents may wish to have their child’s identification processed to keep in a safe place at home. The Lions are always looking for ways to offer free services to our community and hope they get a lot of families to stop by the booth.
