Cass County Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood Jr. reports that his office has updated the case on the body of Kim Sue Stout, found on Lane Road in Jefferson Township, Cass County from a suspicious death to a homicide.

Cass County detectives are working with the St. Joseph County, Ind. metro homicide unit on this homicide investigation.

The body of Stout, 38, of Mishawaka, Ind. was found in a field Monday by Cass County Road Commission employees.

Underwood Jr. Reports that at approximately 1:30 p.m., the Cass County Central Dispatch received a call from the Cass County Road Commission, indicating one of their employee’s had found a body lying in a field alongside the road on Lane Road, south of Davis Lake Street in Jefferson Township, Cass County.
