The annual Parent Expo will take place at the Cassopolis High School gym from 5 to 7:30 p.m.

There will be a mini-petting zoo, face painting, juggling, balloon creations, a caricature artist, among the many carnival activities. The expo, in its eighth year, is once again free and open to the public.

The Healthworks Museum of South Bend will bring the children its new carnival of fitness dubbed “Kohls Fit Feastival.” In a new approach to health education, the games will include: Conk the Junk Food, Nutrition Plink-O, protein fish fling, hydration station and the vege-nator.

Like previous years, the Edwardsburg Lions Club will be offering free vision screenings and will be again offering free family photographs.

There will be numerous resource agencies on hand to answer questions and share information with families, suitable to their needs. A representative from the Michigan Primary Care Association will be on hand to help families determine if they qualify for one of the state health and dental insurance programs.

Cass District Library plans to set up a family resting area where there will be books and literary enhancement activities. Students from Encore Dance will perform.

The menu for the evening will feature elephant ears, corn dogs, snow cones, popcorn, carrots, fruit and baked chips. All food and activities are free.

In the past the expo has been held at Brookside School, but attendance has grown in recent years, so it is moving to the high school gym and cafeteria.

The event is sponsored by the Cass County Youth Council, Borgess Lee Medical, McLaughlin Family Foundation and Kohls Cares for Kids program.
