NILES — Big Brothers Big Sisters of Berrien and Cass announced that Bowl for Kids’ Sake 2011 will be from 1-3 p.m. on  Sunday, April 17, at Joey Armadillo’s in Niles.

The event, the culmination of the organization’s 2011 annual fund drive, is a thank-you party for all Bowl for Kids’ Sake sponsors and all bowlers who raise $100 or more for the organization.

Free bowling, free pizza and soft drinks as well as door prizes will be available to all bowlers who participate. Big Brothers Big Sisters matches adult volunteer mentors with children who would welcome an extra adult in their lives.

The goals are to build self-esteem, improve school performance and to help create a vision for the child’s future.

The organization, a United Way-funded partner, delivers mentoring in three program forms — the community-based traditional program, the Lunch Buddy program at 11 area schools and the Dinner Buddy program at The Boys and Girls Club of Benton Harbor.
