Stanley J. Zawacki, 71, of Sister Lakes, passed away at 10:25 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011, at his home.

Stan’s life began on June 11, 1939, in Chicago, the son of Leo and Mary (Podczerwinski) Zawacki.

He graduated from St. Phillips High School in Chicago.

He was united in marriage to Jean Wnukowski on June 17, 1961, in Chicago.

He was a carpenter and had worked for First Response in South Bend.

He was a parishioner at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church and formerly St. Albert the Great Catholic Church in Burbank, Ill.

Stanley is survived by: his wife, Jean Zawacki of Sister Lakes; son, David J. (Jami) Zawacki of Great Falls, Montana; grandchildren, Stephen, Christine, Victoria and Deanna; and sister-in-law, JoEllyn (Charles) Todd of Crown Point, Ind.

Stan passed away at home on Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011.

He is preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Arlene and Willard Bozeman.

Stan’s family will gather with friends on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. EST at Yazel and Clark Chapel, 405 Center St., Dowagiac, with a scripture service at 7:30 p.m. led by Father Kevin Covert of Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church and again on Friday from 2 to 9 p.m. CST at Lawn Funeral Home (7909 State Road, Burbank, IL 60459).

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. CST at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church (5555 State Road,  Burbank, IL 60459).

He will be laid to rest in Resurrection Cemetery.
