Betty Knapp has been named as executive director A.C.T.I.O.N. (Area Churches Together in One Network) Ministry Center (AMC), headquartered at 301 Main St., Dowagiac.

Betty is a cancer survivor of 12 years and former manager in the corporate world who brings a wealth of experience, enthusiasm and zeal for life to the table.

She has been volunteering diligently on behalf of A.C.T.I.O.N. for the last several months, working with businesses and members of the community to secure equipment and shelving for the community food pantry as well as donations, new outdoor signage, barrels for collection of items throughout Dowagiac and a new Web site in the works.

AMC is the ministry outreach arm of A.C.T.I.O.N., providing the vehicle by which area churches can network together to provide resources and services to individuals and families of the Dowagiac, area in an effective manner.

AMC is primarily focused on but not limited to the poor and broken, the suffering and oppressed of our community.

Its purpose shall be based on the words of Christ in Matthew 25:40: “I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”

A grand opening will be scheduled soon for the AMC which will allow the community to come and check out the facilities and meet Betty, the members of A.C.T.I.O.N. and many others who have been involved in getting the ministry center up and running.

The community will be able to check out the latest news and schedules of events at the AMC at www.actiondowagiac.com.
