LAWRENCE — Quarterback Stone Hadley had quite a season opener and visiting Brandywine defeated Lawrence 44-13 on Friday night.

Hadley tossed a pair of touchdown passes and scored twice with his feet to make the Bobcats a winner on opening night.

Hadley was 8-of-16 for 171 yards with touchdown passes to Jacob Frazier, who finished with four receptions for 103 yards.

On the ground, Hadley carried the ball 15 times for 16 yards and two touchdowns.

Brandywine finished the night with 408 yards in total offense.

It also got touchdown runs from Dustin Sater, who finished with 83 yards on 12 carries, and Chanc Ravish, who capped the scoring in the fourth quarter.

“It was a good game for us,” Brandywine coach Mike Nate said. “Hadley had a great game.”

Hadley and Frazier connected on a 20-yard touchdown pass as the Bobcats grabbed the early 6-0 after the pass for the two-point conversion failed.

Lawrence came back with a pair of touchdown passes to make it 13-6 after 15 minutes of play.

It was all Brandywine from there.

The Bobcats cut the lead to 13-8 after Frazier sacked the quarterback in the end zone for a safety.

Brandywine then took the lead when Hadley scored on a 1-yard run and hit Frazier with the conversion pass.

Hadley added a 3-yard run to make it 22-13 at the break.

A 54-yard scoring strike from Hadley to Frazier set the tone for the second half.

Dustin Sater followed with a 42-yard run and Ravish completed the scoring with a 1-yard run.
