CASSOPOLIS — Cass County Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood reports that on Saturday, Aug. 21, at 12:19 a.m., his office was called to investigate a personal injury crash that occurred on Robinson Road at the intersection of Cemetery Street in Jefferson Township.

Susan Burnsworth, 61, of Edwardsburg, turned onto Robinson from Cemetery in front of a southbound vehicle driven by Bernardo Alvares, 39, of Cassopolis.

Burnsworth was transported to Lakeland Hospital by Life Care Ambulance for treatment.
Seat belts were used and alcohol does not appear to be a factor, deputies reported.

Assisting was Life Care Ambulance.

This case remains under investigation.
