Barbara Kay Banasik and Richard (Rick) Douglas Stock are pleased to announce their engagement and approaching marriage. The couple will be married July 29, 2010.

Barbara, the daughter of Gordon and Joan Banasik of Watervliet, graduated from Watervliet High School, earned a magna cum laude bachelor of arts degree in education from Nazareth College, and a magna cum laude master of science degree in reading from University of Houston-Clear Lake. After teaching in Houston for 14 years (10 years as a reading specialist), Banasik has been an elementary literacy specialist for Edwardsburg Public Schools, as well as an enrichment teacher for Edwardsburg Intermediate for the last five years, and an ESL (English as a second language) teacher during the past two years for the district.

Rick, son of Jackie and the late Richard Stock of Niles, graduated from Niles High School. He is a self-employed finished carpenter.
