The New Buffalo girls’ soccer team swept the three divisions of criteria to earn the Southwest Michigan Soccer Referee’s Association Sportsmanship Award.

The award was announced on Thursday.

The Bison topped the players, fans and coaches categories to earn the overall award.

New Buffalo, who is coached by Tracy Lauricelli, becomes the sixth winner of the girls’ award.

The award was not presented in 2009.

Preview winners include Buchanan, which received the honor in 2005. Michigan Lutheran is the only multiple winner, having captured the award in 2007-08.

Bangor was the runner-up for the award.
