A 41-year-old Niles woman reportedly shot herself in the shoulder in an attempt to obtain treatment for a pre-existing medical condition.

Officers from the Niles City Police Department were sent to a home in the 1500 block of Michigan Street Thursday around 4 p.m. on the report that a person had been shot.

Officers located 41-year-old Kathy Myers, who had a gunshot wound to the shoulder.
