The Dowagiac JV softball team was swept by visiting Gull Lake on Tuesday.

The Blue Devils won the opener 15-8 and then took the second game 8-7.

Kylee Williams went 3-for-4 for the Chieftains with a double, while Casey Weldy had three hits.

Dowagiac also got hits from Taylor Meiser, Brittany Smith and Corinne Kasper.

Meiser took the loss despite eight strikeouts.

Smith suffered the loss in the second game, striking out five.

Meiser doubled and Shelby Huston added two singles. Katie Brooks also had a hit for the Chieftains.
