CONSTANTINE – Visiting Cassopolis split the doubles flights on Monday afternoon, but could not come away with a non-conference tennis win against Constantine.

The Rangers were defeated by the Falcons 6-2.

Jade Gaston and Karleigh Wright defeated Kerri Morris and Thanh Le 6-1 and 6-1 at No. 3 doubles, while Celia Ash and Deonna Walters defeated Maegan Leeth and Becca Talaski 6-1 and 6-2 at No. 4 doubles.

The Cassopolis tennis team was blanked by visiting Bridgman 8-0.

The most competitive match of the day for the Rangers came at No. 2 singles where Stephanie Vlasicak was defeated by Caroline Shaver 6-3 and 6-3.

ST. JOSEPH – A six-run third inning helped propel the Cassopolis baseball team to a 9-4 win over host Lake Michigan Catholic.

The Rangers grabbed a 2-1 lead after one inning, but found themselves tied at 2-2 with the Lakers heading to the third.

Cassopolis (9-8) exploded for six runs to take an 8-2 lead.

The Rangers added a run in the fourth, while LMC scored single runs in the fourth and fifth to complete the scoring.

Cassopolis finished with five hits, including a double from Nathan Blad.

Brandon Davis scattered six hits to pick up the victory.

“We came out and played pretty well,” Cass coach Matt Brawley said. “The last three games we have been fielding the ball well and our pitchers are doing a great job of throwing strikes.”

The Edwardsburg tennis team blanked visiting Coloma 8-0 in a Lakeland Conference match.

The Eddies won all eight flights in straight sets. The Edwardsburg doubles team dropped just 2 games against the Comets.

COLOMA – The Edwardsburg soccer team blanked Coloma 5-0 to remain atop the Lakeland Conference standings.

The Eddies improved to 4-0-1 in the league with the win and 5-4-1 overall.

Aly Mooth scored three goals for the Eddies, who also got goals from Ashlyn Chambers and Ally McIntee.

Edwardsburg outshot the Comets 40-5. Brittany Hurst and Justine Ely combined for three saves.

ST. JOSEPH – Host Lake Michigan Catholic blanked Cassopolis twice in softball.
The Lakers won the first game 8-0 as April Patnaude tossed a two-hitter with 12 strikeouts.

Oliva Stewart took the loss for the Rangers.

In the nightcap, Cassopolis was no-hit by Megan Broderick in a 15-0 loss in three innings.

THREE OAKS – The Cassopolis golf team defeated former Lakeland Conference foe River Valley 223-279 at Chikaming Country Club.

Caleb Oliver shot a round of 45 to earn medalist honors for the Rangers.

Cassopolis also got a 49 from Tony Jones, a 54 from Brandon James and a 76 from Anthony Pompey.
