Blossomland Soccer League opens play

The Blossomland Soccer League opened its seventh season on Sunday with two first and two second division matches.

The Niles Wolverines defeated St. Stephens Villains 4-0, while the Tornados and Real Dowagiac played to a 3-3 tie in First Division action.

The St. Joe Kicker Reserves edged Buchanan FC 1-0 and the Michigan Diamonds defeated the Cyclones 3-1 in Second Division play.

Duane Ungethum, Aaron Acevedo, Kelly Ball and Andy Low all had goals for the Wolverines.

John Lord had a pair of goals for the Tornados, who also got a goal from Errol Roussouve.
Alejandro Hernandez scored twice for Real Dowagiac and Rodolfo Hernandez had the other score.

Buchanan…0

Bill Redman had the only goal of the match for the Kicker Reserves.

Doug Pittman, Josh Saleeby and Robert Fuste had the goals for the Diamonds.
Benjamin Sams scored for the Cyclones.
