The Dowagiac Middle School Wrestling team traveled to Coloma over the weekend to take part in a 10 team invitational.

The Chieftains finished second overall behind host Coloma.

“It was a great day of wrestling by all of our athletes,” Dowagiac coach Andy Crawley said. “We continue to improve each time we step on the mat.”

Bringing home championships on the day were Rey Vega, Tyler Wessendorf, Ken Creameans and Connor Howard.

Taking second were Bryce Younger, Carl Grant and Andrew Lyle.

Finishing third and fourth were Brody Froehlich, Jason Weber, Caleb Sands,Trey Morgan and Tristan Howard.

Dowagiac returns to action today when it hosts South Haven.
