The Dowagiac freshmen girls’ basketball team was defeated by visiting Otsego Tuesday night 42-25.

Rachel Bailey led the Chieftains with 15 points, while Kristyn Turner and Corinne Kasper both finished with four points.

On Monday night, Dowagiac fell to host Plainwell, Dowagiac lost 48-30.

Turner had 12 points for the Chieftains, who also got seven points from Bailey.

Kayla Yakim played well off the bench according to coach Bob Sovine.

Visiting Otsego posted a 36-18 win over the Dowagiac junior varsity girls’ basketball team Tuesday night.

Kelsie Primley led the Chieftains with 10 points. Carly Polomcak added four.

On Monday night, Dowagiac lost to host Plainwell 57-23.

Primley had 13 points and Polomcak seven.
