Brandywine shuts out Mustangs in first half

THREE OAKS – The Brandywine girls’ basketball team pitched a shut out in the first half of its non-conference 54-19 victory Tuesday night.

The Bobcats bounced back nicely from their first loss of the season Monday night.

Brandywine led 24-0 after one period of play and 31-0 at halftime.

River Valley finally got on the scoreboard in the third quarter, but trailed 48-7 heading to the fourth quarter.

Kelsey Prestly led all scorers with 18 points, while Carlie Newman added 17. Lauren Leonard chipped in with eight.

Jordan Gibson led River Valley with six points. Cameren Stoepner added four.
