Police apprehend parole violator after foot chase

Dowagiac Department of Public Safety Director Tom Atkinson reports that officers from the Dowagiac Police Department apprehended a 24-year-old male for a Michigan parole violation warrant after a foot pursuit in the city.

The 24-year-old Dowagiac resident was confronted at Indian Hills Apartments after receiving a call of disorderly subjects in the apartment building.

The 24-year-old male fled out a bedroom window and a foot pursuit began that lasted several blocks in the city.

The subject was apprehended after he attempted to hide on an enclosed porch of a nearby private residence.

The 24-year-old Dowagiac resident was arrested and lodged at the Cass County Jail on the parole violation warrant, resisting/obstructing police and illegal entry.

Police withheld the subject’s name pending arraignment in Cass County’s Fourth District Court.

The report will be forwarded to the Cass County Prosecutor’s Office for review.

Dowagiac Police Department was assisted during the incident by the Pokagon Tribal Police Department.
