Irish announce kickoff times for 2010 season

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The University of Notre Dame has announced kickoff times for its seven home football games for the 2010 season, as well as for its off-site home game at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, N.Y.:

Sept. 4 PURDUE 3:30 p.m. NBC
Sept. 11 MICHIGAN 3:30 p.m. NBC
Sept. 18 at Michigan State TBD
Sept. 25 STANFORD 3:30 p.m. NBC
Oct. 2 at Boston College TBD
Oct. 9 PITTSBURGH 3:30 p.m.
Oct. 16 WESTERN MICHIGAN 2:30 p.m. NBC
Oct. 23 Navy (Meadowlands) TBD
Oct. 30 TULSA 2:30 p.m. NBC national
Nov. 13 UTAH 2:30 p.m. NBC national
Nov. 20 Army (Yankee Stadium) 7  p.m. NBC
Nov. 27  at USC TBD

NBC Sports will televise all seven home games nationally from Notre Dame Stadium, as well as the Nov. 20 game against Army from Yankee Stadium.

Purdue (39th appearance at Notre Dame, 35th at Notre Dame Stadium), Michigan (18th at Notre Dame, 15th at Notre Dame Stadium), Stanford (13th, all at Notre Dame Stadium) and Pittsburgh (30th at Notre Dame Stadium) all last played at Notre Dame in 2008.

Western Michigan, Tulsa and Utah all will be coming to Notre Dame Stadium for the first time.

Only Western Michigan has played the Irish in previous seasons, meeting Notre Dame in South Bend in 1919 and 1920.

Seven of the 2010 Notre Dame opponents played in postseason bowl games following the 2009 season – Michigan State (Alamo Bowl), Stanford (Sun Bowl), Boston College (Emerald Bowl), Pittsburgh (won Meineke Car Care Bowl), Navy (won Texas Bowl), Utah (won Poinsettia Bowl) and USC (won Emerald Bowl).
