SCHOOLCRAFT – The Cassopolis volleyball team finished third in their pool, but was eliminated by Gobles in the quarterfinals at the Schoolcraft Invitational on Friday.

The Lady Rangers defeated Fenville 25-18 and 25-18, lost to defending state champion Schoolcraft 25-4 and 25-11 and defeated Mattawan 25-15 and 25-23.

In the quarterfinals, Gobles defeated Cassopolis 22-25, 25-21 and 15-12.
“The girls played really well on Saturday at the Schoolcraft tournament,” Cass coach Brooke Borsa said. “There were a couple rough patches throughout the day, but for the most part the girls played with a lot of heart and determination. I was proud to see the girls rally together and play as a team.

“This was one of the best showings for Cassopolis varsity volleyball at a tournament in a long time. I hope we can continue to use the momentum we gained at the tournament and use it to succeed in the Lakeland Conference,” she added.
