Wounded Warrior Golf Outing Aug. 9

The second annual Wounded Warrior Golf Outing will be held Aug. 9 at Juday Creek Golf Club in Granger, Indiana.

Last year’s event raised $9,116. Organizers are hoping to make an even larger donation in 2014.

The tournament helps support soldiers who have returned from combat with physical and/or mental injuries sustained through their service to America. The money raised through the outing supports soldiers living in the Michiana area.

The cost of the four-person scramble is $240 per team ($60 per player), which includes golf, cart, range, food, four beverages per person (their choice) and a gift bag.

There will also be long drive, longest putt and closest to the pin contests as well as 50/50 raffle, silent auction, raffle prizes, mulligans and skins.

The outing is limited to the first 36 teams or 144 golfers.

Checks should be made payable to Dan Palmer WWP and mailed to Dan Palmer WWP, 4567 Chamberlain Rd. Buchanan, MI 49107.

There are also four levels of sponsorship available. They are:

• Red — $100 will be a golf ball sign to be placed at the tee box of one hole

• White — $300 will get a 3×6 sign, with three colors, at the registration area

• Blue — $500 will get a 3×6 sign and one foursome entered into the golf outing

• Donation — Any item for the raffle and/or auction gets you on the flyer of supporters

After the tournament there will be live music at Massimo’s Pizzeria and Backside Bar for all participants and donors.

For more information about the tournament of sponsorships, call Palmer at (817) 521-7049 (coachpalmer@gmail.com) or Massimo Cataldo at (269) 362-2934 (massimo74@aol.com).
