Winter Wonderland Christmas Party Dec. 12

The third annual Winter Wonderland Christmas Party will be held at Hope United Methodist Church Dec. 12.

The Edwardsburg Knights of Columbus, Lions Club, Presbyterian Church, Hope United Methodist and Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church have joined forces to host the event.

When a family comes to the Edwardsburg Food Pantry they will have an opportunity to sign up to bring their children to the party for a pancake and sausage breakfast. Each child will get to pick out a toy or item of their choice that will be offered in their age group.

There will also be some crafts and games for them to participate in.

“We want this party to be all about the children,” Tanda Stiffer, past president of the Lions Club said. “Our community does not know the reasons that they are asking for help from the food pantry, nor do we really want to know. It is our belief if they come asking for help, there is definitely a need. We are sure so many children get nothing for Christmas because it is difficult for the family to even put food on the table and pay their bills.

“We are all angels of God and we want to help take care of our children to make this holiday a very special one for them.”

Last year, more than 200 attended the morning event and even more are expected this year.

To make a donation to the event, send a check to Stiffler and in the memo line write Winter Wonderland Party. Checks can be sent to Tanda Stiffler, Winter Wonderland Party, 70001 Martin Road, Edwardsburg, MI 49112.

She and her “brave elves” will be going on an all-night shopping trip Thanksgiving night and Friday morning.
