RAD class Feb. 18-19

Dowagiac Department of Public Safety Director Thomas Atkinson announces the Dowagiac Police Department and Southwestern Michigan College are again teaming up to present the basic physical defense program for women known as RAD (Rape Aggression Defense) to the Dowagiac community.
A RAD class will be presented from 8 a.m. to noon Feb. 18-19 at the SMC Student Athletic Complex.
The class encompasses realistic development of self-defense options for women, including before and during situations of imminent or actual abductive assault.
The program allows women to develop confidence with each lesson to tap their inner power and strength by facing their fear.
The eight-hour training program is free and open to the general public, but class size is limited to 15.
Registration is required. Call the Dowagiac Police Department at (269) 782-9743 ext. 301.
