Keck new Ross Beatty band and choir director

The Cassopolis Board of Education approved the hiring of Sean Keck as its new band and choir director at its regular meeting at the Squires Education Center Monday night.

The board also hired Jessica Pompey as a secondary level math teacher. At a special meeting Feb. 19, the board hired Steve Mammel as a secondary level math and physics teacher.

The building and grounds committee reported that it is continuing discussions on the scope of the project the district plans to put forth to voters in August.

The committee continues to narrow its focus before announcing the project later this year.

The bond, which would be mainly focused at Ross Beatty Jr./Sr. High Schools would also include smaller projects at Sam Adams Elementary, Squires Education Center and the transportation center.

What the district is looking to do is repair roofs, replaces doors and windows with something that is more efficient and repair masonry work as needed.

The bound would also help with upgrades in technology mainly at Ross Beatty.

Another key component of the bond would be replacing the track at Williams F. Scott Field.

The next regularly scheduled board meeting is March 9 at 7 p.m.

at the Squires Education Center.
