Paul Leon Richardson, 89, of Edwardsburg, passed to his rest Feb. 9, 2016, at his home unexpectedly.

He was born May 11, 1926, in South Bend, the son of Adolph and Hester (Bybee) Richardson and has lived in the Michiana area all of his life.

Paul owned and operated a Nursery Farm at Fir and Douglas Roads in Mishawaka for many years and he was a professional landscaper. He spent over 35 years as a Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troup 555 of Mishawaka, and was still active in some scouting events. He was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Edwardsburg and he served his country as a Sargent during WW II.
Paul was married Feb. 16, 1952, at St. Joseph Parish in Mishawaka to Sarah ‘Sally’ Chamberlin, and she passed April 21, 2015.

Surviving are their children; Lee (Freda) Richardson of Shipshewana, Tim and LuAnn Richardson, both of Edwardsburg. There are three grandchildren; Todd (Caitlynn) Richardson, Lori (Josh) Kauffman and Josh Richardson. Also surviving is his loving cat, Skattie. Family who have passed are his parents, his wife Sally and his two brothers Eugene and James Richardson.

Visitation for Paul was Sunday, Feb. 14, 2016 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Edwardsburg. The Mass of Christian Burial was on Monday, Feb. 15, 2016, at the Church with father Joe McCormick, Pastor of the church, officiating. Following the service the United States Army Honor Guard played Taps and folded the American Flag in the church Narthex. Cremation has taken place and Paul’s cremains will be laid to rest later this spring next to his wife in the Harris Prairie Cemetery, Granger.
